Definition of Terms:

Prima Facie Evidence - evidence which standing alone unexplained or uncontradicted, is sufficient to make the proposition affirmed. It is such as, in judgment of law, is sufficient to establish the fact; and if not rebutted, remains sufficient for that purpose (People vs Solis, 64 O. G. 11260).

Motu Propio - on his own motion or initiative (Beech vs Jimenez 12 Phil 220).

Subpoena Duces Tecum
- a writ by which a person is required to produce documents in evidence (Famous Anchorage Merchandising Inc. vs Baylen, SP-02472, Dec. 13, 1985).
